Equipped for Reading Success
David A. Kilpatrick's book, Equipped for Reading Success: A Comprehensive, Step-by-Step Program for Developing Phonemic Awareness and Fluent Word Recognition, is an excellent resource for improving a person's phonemic awareness abilities.
I administer the Phonological Awareness Screening Test (PAST) with all clients to determine a baseline in phonemic awareness ability. With learners who require additional intervention, I use Kilpatrick's One-Minute Drills found in this resource during tutoring sessions to further support phonemic awareness skills.

Billing
Tutoring is paid for in advance each month. Invoices will be sent on the 21st of each month and are due on the 1st day of the month for the upcoming month.
Payment can be made via e-Transfer or with a credit card online through Stripe.
Schedules and Absences
Schedules are booked in advance for the upcoming month. This is because I want to give clients flexibility with their schedule to allow for other commitments throughout the year such as extra-curricular activities and changing work schedules.
If absent, I encourage clients, regardless of the situation, to reach out to reschedule their session if possible. Rescheduled sessions will be booked based on availability.
If MORE than 24 hours notice is given, a credit will be applied to the following month for the missed session if it cannot be rescheduled.
If LESS than 24 hours notice is given, clients are still responsible for paying for the missed session if it cannot be rescheduled.
Clients who miss more than 2 sessions without charge may lose their session time, as I prioritize those on my waiting list who are ready to commit.
If a client is late for a session, I will send an email reminder after 5 minutes. If they log in promptly, we will continue but still end at our regular time to avoid delays in my schedule, which is often tightly booked.
I will remain logged into the Zoom meeting for 20 minutes if an individual tutoring client is late. After that, I will send a follow up email, leave the session, and mark it as missed. The client will be responsible for payment with no rescheduling option.
If I am absent and we cannot find a time to reschedule, a credit will be applied to the next month's invoice.
Withdrawal
Clients are entitled to withdraw from tutoring at any time. You will receive your remaining pre-paid sessions for the upcoming month.
